Mayor Eric Adams is expected to continue his “control” of NYC schools once John Liu’s (S16) and Robert Jackson’s (S31) S09459 and Manny De Los Santos (A72) and Deborah Glick (A66) A10498 are passed June 2, 2022.
Senator Liu added a new “District Council 75” and more appointments, while Assemblyman De Los Santos wants class sized reduced “in all grades over the next five years”.
NYC has lost over 400,000 registered voters between February 2021 and February 2022. Drop in student population is not an allowed reason to cut the number of teachers. If 400,000 voters were added back bringing with them their children, NYC is required to hire more teachers!
