At 153 Avenue, there is no “end of road” warning for those driving westbound on 151 Avenue. An accident in early August damaged 4 parked cars.
The 200′ x 500′ stretch of undeveloped land on the Sapphire Street (Brooklyn) side was privately owned until it was sold to the City of New York in 1976. It is managed by the Department of Sanitation, which decided to erect a fence defining its boundary line over a year and a half ago (2021) when it was tired of cleaning up dumped trash. Now, residents are complaining about reduced parking space, abandoned cars and loud noise.
Package pirates and auto thefts are common in this area since the 76th Precinct and 106th Precinct would refer to the other Precinct over jurisdiction.
