I am touched and thankful of the residents (Jose, Joseph), businesses (Tommy Tibbs of Spotlight Dance Factory at 133-01 Cross Bay Boulevard), non-profits (Robert Joseph of Our Neighbors Civic Association), for their community spirit and respect out to replace worn out flags.

Did you know Flag Day commemorates the adoption of the flag of the United States on June 14, 1777?

The resolution passed by the Second Continental Congress on that day read: “Resolved: that the flag of the United States be thirteen stripes, alternate red and white; that the union be thirteen stars, white in a blue field, representing a new constellation.”

Should I have the honor to be your representative, my office will reimburse the cost of community flag purchases.
