Abandoned property at 89-50 134 Street invites squatters and trash. Fire hazard is expected when winter comes.
Medisys (a/k/a Jamaica Hospital) has bought several homes in the area. Some are also vacant. Along this stretch, there are a non-working police camera, trash concerns and cars blocking driveway, and theft incidents.

Residents are afraid for their safety where Kew Gardens Road, Metropolitan and Jamaica Avenue intersect. The bench area attracts drug users, homeless and unwelcomed activities. With the number of mentally illed growing, certified phych beds have been reduced. Report.
Even a dead end street has speeding drivers, piles of trash and upticking crime.
133 Street off Metropolitan Avenue is about a 900 feet dead-end residential street. During alternate side street cleaning hours, parked cars do not move and are not ticketed. Trash piles up. Pitching a tent over sidewalk at 132nd Street and Jamaica Avenue is not permitted. But…
There are laws, and there is enforcement. In addition to rising crime due to decriminalization ordered by New York State’s Bail Reform law, a tenant is able to pitch a tent, do sidewalk BBQ, hold music parties that even the landlord and police could not stop.

Tree, garbage, theft, loud music, parking at 126 and 127 Streets.
The residents feel the City has a lower priority responding to their needs. Illegal activities continue. Tree trimming requires multiple attempts. Double-parking, reserved spots, hydrants, driveway blocking, out-of-state owners… Theft reporting is up to citizens to fix on their own. Response time has not been attentive. Quality of life is dramatically lower than before.
