Hurricane Ida was a 5′ basement flood event at 74 Avenue and Woodhaven Service Road.
City sewer backed up flooding basements and cars parked in the backyard. Residents said the City had not cleared the sewers properly, and the 4″ pipe should be upsized to 6″. Another annoyance expressed by residents in this area is dog poop not picked up.
Owner of 69-26 Woodhaven Blvd is living in care facility; Zombie Home.
Building has not been maintained for years. Community Board has been informed, health violations has been issued, some work by the city was done. Where can one access such public record? Zombie home has attracted squatters and scrupulous people.
Woodhaven Boulevard Underpass by Home Depot is a popular place for graffiti, dumping, loud music, homeless…
Right after a major clean up of graffiti, couches, etc., another set of appliance was dumped here. Residents are not comfortable walking by at night. Loud music late night and cars donutting at Home Depot are other concerns at this area.
