It is never easy for a voter nor any expert to find out easily what our politicians are up to. We need commitment from someone inside to answer basic questions. Republican is “a threat to democracy”?

What does it mean? It was a popular 2022 election catch phrase, and the voters generally don’t have a clear understanding as to why it was used. The Atlantic explains that it refers to the Congressional deniers of Trump’s 2020 election. Further reinforced by Ed Kilgore of the New York magazine.
