A resident at 98 Street abutting the abandoned Rockaway Beach Branch of the LIRR track is concerned that an overgrown tree on the side of the tracks could topple. Who would be responsible? Abandoned track next to Fleet Street Ballfields. Deputy Mayor Meera Joshi got $117 million for QueensWay from Biden’s Infrastructure Law.
Neighbors submitted a petition in April 2021 for speed bump to State Assemblywoman, Jenifer Rajkumar, and are inquiring its status. Other concerns include rising crime, not enough parking space, many AirBnB households, homeless by Le Cordon Bleu on Jamaica Avenue.
Can you even see it? It’s filled with leaves and debris behind the red car. Since it is next to Woodhaven Boulevard near Forest Park, neighbors complain about motorbike noise, speeding in the area and sound of occasional fireworks.
It is an ongoing problem. Once removed, it comes back.
