Eldert Lane divides this section of Kings and Queens County. On the Queens side, the post office is Brooklyn, but it is served by Queens 102nd Precinct. The Brooklyn side is Kings 75th Precinct. Crime has never been so bad in this area according to long-time residents. Many residents would not even come out even during the day.
95 Avenue is one way westward, and dead ends at Eldert Lane. Because Eldert Lane is narrow with cars parked on both sides of the road (often on the sidewalk as evidenced by the worn out grass at this corner), cars turning left or right could have its line of sight blocked.
This patch was done differently compared to other trees. The design is causing nuisance for the homeowners. I propose all DoT projects should take input from affected neighbors and businesses into consideration.
