New York City fenced up vacant lot at 104-82 124 Street

The property is owned by the City of New York. It has been left vacant and unattended for decades. Good neighbors have kept it cleaned. City decided to lock it up this year. Now it is unsightly.

Trash at warehouse along LIRR invites rats.

There is trash and dumping at 88th Avenue and 131st Street. Rats are everywhere. Wise potato chips food company rents a section of the warehouse. Neighbors sometimes pitch in to clean up.

Jacob immigrated from the Soviet Union with his family in the 1990s. Business from his watch and shoe repair/barber shop has taken a hit since COVID. Stop by to listen or share old Soviet stories. He may even share some nostalgic photographs during his years as a photographer and in the military.

At age 28, Jackie Robinson stepped onto Ebbets Field to compete for the Brooklyn Dodgers. On May 1, 1884, Moses Fleetwood Walker, 26, debuted in a Major League Baseball game with the Toledo Blue Stockings as a barehanded catcher.

131 Street had a block association. Neighbors changed, but residents want to restart it.

Annette and Kawall are concerned about growing crime and noise in the area. I propose that the elected officials should help in the process by providing the businesses and residents information, contacts, support and funding for basic supplies.
